SALEM, Va. – Juniors Brittany Racek and Jamie Fisher homered in the seventh inning of a 4-3 win over Charleston, and senior Jackie Battaglino fired a two-hit shutout in a 10-0 (5 inn.) win against Wheeling Jesuit as East Stroudsburg University won a pair of games at the PSAC/WVIAC Challenge on Saturday.

Fisher also homered in the first before Charleston tied the game in the third and took a 3-1 lead on a two-out, two-run home run by Samantha Macias in the sixth. Junior Caitlin Monahan threw her eighth complete game of the season and got a double play to finish the game in the seventh.

In the second game, Battaglino struck out five while throwing her third career shutout, and went to the circle with a 5-0 lead over Wheeling Jesuit before she threw a pitch in the first.

The Warriors had 16 hits in the game, eight coming in the first inning, that included a two-run single by senior Kara Darcey and RBI singles by Battaglino, freshman Tegan Wendell and Mingis.

Sophomore Rachel Gieringer plated Racek with a double in the fourth after Racek singled and stole second. Darcey followed with a base hit to drive home Gieringer and make the score 7-0.

The Warriors added three more runs in the fifth when Mingis singled and scored on a double by Racek, Fisher doubled and sophomore Brandi Stettler tripled to extend the lead.

Racek (3-4), Gieringer (2-3), Darcey (2-3) and Mingis (2-3) all had multiple hits against Wheeling Jesuit, and Fisher was 2-for-3 with two home runs in the opener.
