MILLERSVILLE – East Stroudsburg University opened its PSAC East women's tennis schedule with a 9-0 win at Millersville on Wednesday afternoon, while the Warriors' men's team fell to the Marauders, 7-2.

Juniors Katie D'Ambrosia and Jamie Ferrigno have received two of the first three PSAC East Athlete of the Week awards this season and moved to 12-2 at first doubles in duals with an 8-2 victory over Samantha Prager and Kaeley McCabe.

Both players also posted their fifth straight victories in singles action as ESU improved to 9-5 on the year. D'Ambrosia won 6-2, 4-6, 10-8 over Melissa Plowman at No. 2 and Ferrigno won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1, over McCabe at No. 3.

Sophomore Amanda Kaufman defeated Prager 6-1, 6-4 at first singles. Sophomore Alex Santoro (No. 4), senior Marissa Tanner (No. 5) and sophomore Amy McGrath (No. 6) also picked up straight sets victories in singles.

Kaufman and Tanner won an 8-6 decision against Plowman and Shauna Powers at No. 2 doubles and Santoro and McGrath posted an 8-5 win at No. 3 to improve to 4-0 on the season.

Junior Jared Rosenberg won for the fourth straight time at No. 3 singles for the Warriors' men's team, posting a 6-0, 6-3 win against Andrew Sorgi.

ESU's other point came at first doubles, where junior Will Norris and graduate student James Norris knocked off Drew Slocum and Sorgi, 8-6.

The Warriors are back in action on Friday when they travel to Bloomsburg for their PSAC East match-up. ESU's men fell 7-2 to the Huskies in their first match this spring.
