HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Junior Will Norris posted a come-from-behind tiebreaker win at No. 1 singles, graduate student James Norris won in straight sets at No. 4 and the brothers teamed up for a 9-7 win at first doubles to lead the East Stroudsburg University men's tennis team to a 6-3 win at Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday.

The Warriors dropped their first two matches on Sunday and Monday in Hilton Head, S.C., falling to Tiffin (Ohio), 7-2, and Tusculum (Tenn.), 8-1. ESU also took on Bloomsburg two weeks ago in its first match of the spring season, dropping a 7-2 decision against the Huskies.

In the win at Lenoir-Rhyne, the Warriors also received victories from sophomore Mark Covert at No. 3 and junior Zach Ontell and No. 6, and an 8-2 victory at No. 2 doubles by junior Jared Rosenberg and sophomore Seth Heller.

Rosenberg and Heller (No. 2) and Covert and Ontell (No. 3) were the Warriors' winners for their two points against Bloomsburg. The doubles teams also posted wins over Tiffin and Tusculum, respectively, and James Norris picked up a 6-3, 6-7, 11-9 victory at fourth singles against Tiffin.

The elder Norris has a 5-4 singles record for ESU in 2009-10 and a 5-3 mark in duals. The Warriors are at or above .500 at all three doubles spots, with Heller/Rosenberg and Covert/Ontell both at 5-3, and are 3-5 in dual action as a team to date.

ESU takes on Charleston (W.V.), Young Harris (Ga.) and Malone (Ohio) over the next three days.
