BLOOMSBURG – East Stroudsburg University dropped a pair of matches in PSAC East tennis at Bloomsburg on Friday, with the women falling 7-2 and the men dropping a 9-0 decision to the Huskies.

The Warriors' women won at first and second doubles. Juniors Katie D'Ambrosia and Jamie Ferrigno earned an 8-4 win over Alison Carney and Emily Palko at No. 1, and sophomore Amanda Kaufman and senior Marissa Tanner picked up an 8-6 victory over Katie Hasyn and Laura Sullivan at No. 2 before Bloomsburg won all six singles matches.

The Huskies (8-3, 2-0) had a pair of three-set wins in singles action. Hasyn and Kaufman matched up at No. 1 singles, with Hasyn taking a 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 victory, and Palko knocked off Ferrigno at No. 3, winning 6-2, 4-6, 6-1, to end Ferrigno's five-match winning streak. ESU is 9-6 overall and 1-1 in conference play after posting a 9-0 win at Millersville on Wednesday.

All six of the men's singles matches were decided in straight sets as Bloomsburg improved to 6-3 on the season and won its conference opener. ESU falls to 3-10 and 0-2 in the PSAC East.

ESU's women's team hosts Cheyney in a PSAC East match on Wednesday, while the men are off until next Saturday when they travel to Kutztown.
