Tucker Added to ESU Foundation Staff in Athletics Fundraising Position

EAST STROUDSBURG – Drenen Tucker has been added to the staff of the East Stroudsburg University Foundation as an Assistant Director of the Annual Fund for Athletics.

Tucker, a 2010 graduate of ESU, is responsible for assisting in the planning, implementation and coordination of the athletic department's overall fundraising efforts. He will work under the supervision of Betty Russo, Vice President for Development of the ESU Foundation, while working closely with Dr. Tom Gioglio, Director of Athletics.

Tucker has assisted the athletic department in various roles over the past two years and was awarded the department's “Volunteer of the Year” award for 2008-09. He has worked as a public address announcer, shot clock operator, an auctioneer on the Warrior Athletic Club Auction, sideline reporter for ESU football on Blue Ridge TV-13, and as a volunteer football coach for the Warriors.

He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor of science degree in Sport Management and a minor in Business Management. He was also inducted to the Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society and Sigma Alpha Pi National Society of Leadership and Success.

While a student at ESU, Tucker was the founder of Varsity Letter, a sport recruiting service for high school and junior college student-athletes. Varsity Letter was the winning concept of ESU's inaugural Business Plan Competition through the Center for Research and Economic Development.

Tucker also brings more than 10 years of professional experience to his position with the ESU Foundation. His previous positions include working as Director of Sales and Marketing for ESPN 1400-AM in Spartanburg, S.C., and a four-year stint in vice president positions with Global Mortgage Group in Greenville, S.C. and Atlanta, Ga.

Tucker resides in Stroud Township with his wife, Allison, and their four-year old daughter, Morgan.
