Alyson Stark had 17 kills and senior libero
Lindsey Lullo had 20 digs to lead East Stroudsburg University to a 3-1 win over Saint Rose on Friday afternoon in its first match of this weekend's tournament at American International College.
AIC posted a 3-1 win in the Warriors' second match of the day. ESU (1-5) takes on UMass-Lowell at 12 p.m. and Molloy at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Senior middle blocker
Brianne Bachman contributed eight kills, seven blocks and four aces and senior outside hitter
Emily Detter had six kills and 12 digs in the Warriors' win over Saint Rose, their first of the season.
Freshman middle blocker
Ashley Lesniak had eight kills and hit .412 and freshman setter
Allye Preziosi posted 38 assists for an offense that had a season-best .198 attack percentage. ESU had six kills and eight errors in a 25-23 loss in the first game, but came back to hit almost .300 the rest of the way, including a .464 performance (14 kills, one error in 28 attacks) in the third game.
Stark had 18 kills vs. American International, but the host Yellow Jackets improved to 4-3 on the season. Lullo posted 17 digs and Preziosi had 33 assists.
Stark moved into ESU's career top 10 in kills last weekend and had her first two matches with double-figure kills this year, giving her 40 matches with 10+ kills in her career.
Bachman had seven blocks vs. Saint Rose and four against AIC, along with seven kills. Her 161 career blocks are one away from the Warriors' top 10.
