CLARION - Senior Jamie Ferrigno had wins at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles to lead East Stroudsburg University to an 8-1 win at Clarion in women's tennis on Friday.

Ferrigno defeated Michaela Hardy, 6-1, 6-0, and teamed with junior Amanda Kaufman for an 8-3 win over Hardy and Jaclyn Metzger at No. 1 doubles. Metzger defeated Kaufman, 7-5, 6-2, at No. 1 singles for the Golden Eagles' only point.

Other double winners for the Warriors were sophomore Rabecca Lausch, freshmen Melanie DeMarco and Annie Vega and graduate student Jessica Wilson.

Lausch had a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles and was paired with DeMarco in an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles. DeMarco won in three sets (6-4, 1-6, 6-4) in her No. 4 singles match.

Vega was a 6-4, 6-4 winner at No. 5 singles and Wilson had a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 6. Vega and Wilson won their No. 3 doubles match, 8-4.

ESU is 2-0 on the season and plays IUP on Saturday in a neutral site match at Clarion.
