CLARION – IUP swept all three doubles and six singles matches to hand East Stroudsburg University its first loss in women's tennis of the 2010-11 season on Saturday in a neutral site match at Clarion.

The Crimson Hawks' top doubles team beat ESU junior Amanda Kaufman and senior Jamie Ferrigno, 9-8 (8-6) in a tiebreaker, in the day's tightest match. Ferrigno pushed Emilia Osborne to 7-5 in the first set in their No. 2 singles match before Osborne prevailed, 6-1, in the second set.

The Warriors beat Clarion, 8-1, in their first match of the weekend on Friday. ESU was playing without senior Katie D'Ambrosia, its regular No. 2 singles player and the other half of the usual No. 1 doubles tandem with Ferrigno.

ESU will be away from action for the next two weeks before traveling to Bloomsburg for an invitational on October 1-2.
