BLOOMSBURG – Juniors Dalton Barton and Andrew Makos advanced to the “B” doubles semifinals to lead the East Stroudsburg University men's tennis team at the Bloomsburg Invitational this weekend.

Barton and Makos won their first two matches by 8-5 scores, including a second-round victory over Dakkota Deem and Alex Makos (Andrew's brother) of Wilkes. The Warriors' duo fell in the semifinals, 8-0, to Will Apperson and Eric Caltabiano of Mary Washington.

Makos also won his two consolation matches at “C” singles and Barton also picked up a win in his first consolation match for ESU.

Senior Jared Rosenberg won two matches in the “B” singles bracket and played three very competitive matches. He won 4-6, 6-4 (10-8) over Dan Levine of Ithaca in the first round, fell 7-6 (8-6), 1-6 (7-10) to Tyler Pultro of Bloomsburg, and beat Deem of Wilkes, 6-4, 6-4, in the consolations.

Senior Will Norris and junior Zach Ontell posted the Warriors' other doubles win, taking their consolation round match-up with Carl Caceres and Joe Morra of the University of Scranton by a 9-7 score.

ESU will have two weeks off before playing in the PSAC Individual Championships on Oct. 9-10 at Shippensburg.
