CLARION – Sophomore
Regan Zimmerman shot a career-low round of 94 on the first day of action to lead the East Stroudsburg University women's golf team at the season-opening Clarion Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at Clarion Oaks Golf Club.
Zimmerman carded rounds of 94 and 103 after coming into the year with a previous career low of 101. Sophomore
Alycia Jones shot consecutive rounds of 100, and senior
Kaley Rode finished with a two-round score of 227 (113-114).
Gannon won the team championship by 12 strokes over Walsh University, and West Chester's Nicole Cavalcante shot a 13-over par 157 to win the individual title by two shots over Gannon's Kelly Nickerson. ESU did not figure into the team with score with three players competing.
The Clarion Oaks Golf Club played at a par-72 over 5,826 yards for the 36-hole event.
The Warriors will be away from action this weekend and host the ESU Invitational on October 10-11 (Sunday and Monday) at Water Gap Country Club.
