SLIPPERY ROCK – Lucy Hannon and Kara Mullins both scored a pair of goals, once in each half, to give Slippery Rock a 4-0 win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC women's soccer on Saturday afternoon.
Hannon opened the scoring 11 minutes in and Mullins scored in the 25th minute to give Slippery Rock (6-3-2, 4-2-2) a 2-0 lead at intermission. Mullins scored again in the 58th minute and Hannon had her second goal in the 70th minute, both assisted by Shelby Ward.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Nicki Keiser had eight saves for ESU (4-6-1, 1-6-1), which is three games into a five-game road trip against several of the top programs in the PSAC.
The Warriors have already faced runner-up California and semifinalist Slippery Rock on the trip, and face another semifinalist, Kutztown, to finish the road swing on October 11. Head coach
Rob Berkowitz, in his fifth season, is also coaching the ESU men's program this season.
Lisa Rodgers had four saves to post the shutout for Slippery Rock, which held a 14-5 advantage in shots on the afternoon.
ESU is away from action until a trip to Gannon in Erie, PA next Saturday.
