EAST STROUDSBURG – East Stroudsburg University picked up three bonus point victories, including freshman Jordan Toledo's fall for the go-ahead points at 133, to earn a 24-19 win over Delaware Valley on Saturday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Redshirt junior Thad Frick had a 21-7 major decision at 165 and redshirt senior Jeff Jacobs earned a 21-6 technical fall at 174 to rally the Warriors from an early 10-0 deficit and set the stage for a very competitive finish over the final six bouts.

The victory is the first for the Warriors over the Aggies since 2005-06 and gives ESU an 8-9 record entering its final two duals of the season. Delaware Valley (8-8-1), ranked 21st in Division III, finishes the year with at least a .500 record for the 41st consecutive season.

Delaware Valley took a 13-9 lead after the 184-pound bout, where Dan Daddino recorded a 5-4 decision over redshirt freshman Brendan McKeown, who fell to 17-13 in his return to the mat for the first time since January 15.

The turning point came at 197, where redshirt junior Ed Ebewo improved to 17-8 with a 12-10 decision over Aaron Karns, a freshman ranked No. 8 in Division III. Ebewo had takedowns at the buzzer in both the first and second periods, and trailed 10-9 due to the riding time point before he produced an escape in the last 10 seconds of the third period. After returning to neutral at the middle of the mat, Ebewo landed a shot for the winning take down at the edge in the final three seconds to hand Karns (23-5) just his fifth loss of the season.

ESU went ahead for the first time all night, 15-13, with a 5-3 decision from sophomore Will Weaver over Zeke Pyle at 285. Weaver improved to 22-12 on the year, but the lead was short-lived after Delaware Valley picked up a forfeit at 125 to go back ahead, 19-15.

Toledo energized the enthusiastic crowd at Koehler Fieldhouse with his pin just 66 seconds into his 133-pound match with Zac Haynes. The Pleasant Valley freshman improves to 10-5 overall and 8-3 in dual action.

Toledo's fall gave the Warriors a 21-19 lead going into the final bout of the night at 141 pounds, featuring ESU redshirt junior Adam Hluschak, a returning NCAA Division II national qualifier, and Matt Ulrich, a Division III All-American.

Hluschak sealed the victory with an 8-2 decision, keyed by a takedown and two back points at the end of the first period, as the Warriors ended a four-match losing streak to Delaware Valley. Hluschak moved his record to 22-11 while Ulrich falls to 16-7.

The Aggies took their 10-0 lead through the first two bouts with a pin from Zak Andrews, who improved to 26-5 at 149 pounds, and a 15-6 decision by Jesse Harrington (19-5), ranked No. 2 in Division III, against ESU senior Jesse Dunn.

Dunn and Jacobs, the Warriors' two seniors, were recognized before the match. Dunn is a four-year starter competing at every weight from 149 through 174 pounds, and Jacobs is a three-year starter and posted his 53rd overall victory and 31st dual win for the Warriors.

Jacobs won his 11th straight dual, improving to 12-2 in duals and 16-6 overall in his final season at ESU. The technical fall was the first of his career and his 22nd career win by bonus points, including a team-high eight pins this season.

Beginning with Jacobs at 174, ESU's upperweights are 39-5 with 16 bonus point wins in the last 11 duals. ESU is 7-4 in that stretch, including four straight victories, all at Koehler Fieldhouse.

The Warriors' final two matches are on the road next week as they look for their second straight season with a winning dual record, heading to PSAC rival Kutztown on Tuesday and Division I Binghamton on Friday.
