CATAWBA, N.C. – Lauren Harris threw a four-hit shutout to lead No. 17 Lenoir-Rhyne to a 7-0 win over East Stroudsburg University as the Warriors finished their five-game appearance at the Catawba Invitational on Sunday morning in North Carolina.
ESU went 3-2 on its season-opening trip, posting wins over Queens, N.C. (6-4), West Liberty (6-4) and Glenville State (11-10, 10 inn.) before falling to Tiffin (8-0) and Lenoir-Rhyne.
Lenoir-Rhyne improved to 12-3 with its sixth straight win entering its final game of the Catawba Invitational later today against Lock Haven. The Warriors had eight baserunners on four hits, two walks and two hit batters but couldn't score against Harris, who threw the Bears' fourth shutout of the season.

Caitlin Monahan had ESU's hits in the contest. Monahan threw 5.0 innings, struck out two and walked one before freshman
Amanda McKay pitched the sixth inning. Lenoir-Rhyne scored three runs in the first, one in the second and two in the third before adding their final run in the fifth and had 15 hits in the game.
ESU will be back in action with 10 games in Clermont, Florida over spring break from March 6-11. The Warriors will play schools from nine states during the trip, beginning with contests against St. Joseph's (Ind.) and Southern New Hampshire on the first day.
