EAST STROUDSBURG – Tori Dugan led a balanced West Chester attack with three goals as the No. 6-ranked Golden Rams held off East Stroudsburg University for a 12-6 win in PSAC women's lacrosse on Tuesday afternoon at Whitenight Field.

Senior Molly O'Hara scored four goals to lead the Warriors (2-3, 0-1), who had a strong effort against the defending runner-up in both the PSAC Tournament and NCAA Division II Championships last season.

O'Hara moved into third in school history with 139 career goals and within one goal of the No. 2 spot by recording her fourth hat trick in five games this season. O'Hara has 17 goals after leading ESU with 56 goals and earning PSAC East Player of the Year honors last season.

Seniors Christine Bradley and Michelle Mangiaruga also scored for ESU and junior Maure Perrymond added an assist.

West Chester jumped out to a 3-0 lead on a score by Shannon Hayes and two goals from Dugan in the first seven minutes, but the Warriors limited the Golden Rams to three goals the rest of the half while O'Hara found the net twice and Bradley added a goal.

The two teams traded goals for the first 15 minutes of the second half, with O'Hara's third goal of the day bringing ESU within 8-5 with 13:05 left, but West Chester scored four goals down the stretch to put the game away.

West Chester (2-1, 1-0) was the preseason No. 2 pick in the PSAC coaches poll as the conference returns to a one-division setup after playing in eastern and western divisions for the last two seasons.

Both teams played two goalkeepers and made the change at halftime. Sophomore Katie Zollo started for ESU and made five saves and junior Amanda Simms had eight saves in the second half. MacKenzie O'Keefe was credited with two saves in the first half and Jess Henderson had four saves in the second half for West Chester.

The Golden Rams held advantages of 35-18 in shots and 12-7 in draw controls. West Chester converted on 5-of-11 free position shots and ESU was 1-for-3.

The Warriors will be back on the field on Saturday when they look for their first PSAC win of the season at Kutztown. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
