SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Brittany Brigandi scored five goals and Kelly Condon and Rebekah Elmer scored three goals each to lead No. 6 Le Moyne to a 16-9 win over East Stroudsburg University in non-conference women's lacrosse on Friday afternoon.

Seniors Michelle Mangiaruga and Jamie Wesztergom scored two goals apiece to lead ESU (1-1), which opened its season with a 10-7 win at Georgian Court on Wednesday.

Le Moyne, which was playing its season opener, is ranked No. 6 in the first IWLCA poll of the season in its first year in Division II after previously competing in Division I. The Dolphins were ranked No. 2 in the Northeast-10 Conference preseason poll.

Brigandi scored the first two goals of the game for Le Moyne before ESU answered back with a free position goal by senior Molly O'Hara and a score by freshman Nicole Miller, assisted by Mangiaruga.

Le Moyne broke the game open with five goals in a span of just over three minutes midway through the first period and led 11-4 at halftime. The two schools were even on the scoreboard in the second half, 5-5.

O'Hara, juniors Maure Perrymond and Laura Riegel and freshmen Miller and Danielle Marceca supported Mangiaruga and Wesztergom in the scoring column for the Warriors. Sophomore goalkeeper Katie Zollo made 14 saves and Le Moyne held a 41-24 advantage in shots.

ESU will be back in action next week with two games in North Carolina, playing at Pfeiffer on Wednesday at 11 a.m. and Belmont-Abbey on Friday at 4 p.m.
