Caitlin Monahan threw a four-hitter and junior 3B
Rachel Gieringer hit an RBI double for the go-ahead run in the fifth inning as East Stroudsburg University beat Alderson-Broaddus, 5-2, to salvage a 1-1 day at the National Training Center on Tuesday.
In the first game of the day, Saint Rose (N.Y.) rallied from an 8-3 deficit and scored three runs in the top of the seventh to post a 10-8 win over the Warriors.
ESU is 3-3 in the first six games of its 10-game trip and is away from action on Wednesday. The Warriors stand at 6-5 on the season entering games against Northern State (S.D.) and Wayne State (Neb.) on Thursday.

Pam Sellers was 3-for-4 with a double to lead a 13-hit attack against Alderson-Broaddus (9-6). The Battlers took a 2-0 lead in the first inning before ESU scored an unearned run in the second, tied the game on an RBI single by senior OF
Jamie Mingis in the fourth and went ahead with two runs in the fifth.
Sellers hit a one-out double to start the rally and Gieringer followed with her double to score Sellers and put the Warriors in front, 3-2. Freshman OF
Rebecca Smith extended the inning with a two-out walk and junior 1B
Brittany Zanzalari came through with an RBI single that scored Gieringer from second for a two-run lead. Gieringer drove in Racek with a two-out single to give ESU a 5-2 lead with an insurance run in the sixth.
Monahan retired 15 straight hitters after a leadoff double in the second before the leadoff batter reached on an error in the seventh, but Alderson-Broaddus never threatened to cut into the deficit as the Warriors remained one game above .500. Monahan was named the PSAC East Pitcher of the Week earlier in the day and is 4-2 in seven games (five starts) with four complete games this season.
Against Saint Rose, the Warriors built their 8-3 lead on the strength of a six-run third inning in which six batters drew bases loaded walks. Saint Rose pitchers issued eight walks in the game, but Nicole Traylor settled down after entering in the third and went 5.0 innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out three.

Brandi Stettler hit a one-out double but the Warriors couldn't capitalize in the second, but they came through with a big bottom of the third helped by the Saint Rose pitching staff.
Sellers, Gieringer and Ashe opened the inning with singles to load the bases, and ESU wouldn't need another hit to get on the board. Junior C

Julia Collins, Zanzalari, Stettler, Racek and Gieringer all walked with the sacks full before Ashe flew out to left field to end the inning.
Mingis singled to score Zanzalari to extend the lead to 8-3 in the fourth inning before Saint Rose came back. The Golden Knights got four runs in the fifth, converting on three hits, a wild pitch, a double steal and an error, before rallying to win it in the seventh.
Two of the three runs in the final inning were unearned and Olivia Reeves doubled home the go-ahead run before Monahan relieved freshman starter
Laura Suits. Saint Rose got one more run in the inning to go ahead 10-8, and Racek was hit by a pitch as the Warriors' only base runner in the bottom of the inning.
ESU had 21 hits on the day, led by Sellers (4-for-8, three runs), Mingis (3-for-7, two RBI), Zanzalari (3-for-7, two runs, two RBI) and Gieringer (3-for-8, three RBI, two runs). Stettler and junior C
