KUTZTOWN – Senior Becky Benner and sophomores Alycia Jones and Regan Zimmerman all finished in the top 15 as East Stroudsburg University opened the spring portion of the 2010-11 women's golf schedule on Saturday at the Kutztown Invitational at the Berkleigh Golf Course.

Jones (99), Zimmerman (100) and Benner (101) placed 13th, 14th and 15th, respectively in the 18-hole event.

Jones broke 100 for the fifth time in 12 career rounds for the Warriors and was coming off a team-best 98 in the second round of the PSAC Championship in her last event in the fall.

Zimmerman was one shot away from her second career sub-100 round and Benner was one shot behind her to finish in a tie for 15th. Freshman Erika Cupa shot a 167 while playing in her first career event.

Kutztown (338) won the six-team event by 12 shots over West Chester, followed by Mercyhurst, Dickinson, Franklin & Marshall and ESU. The Warriors were six shots behind the Diplomats, 461 to 467.

The Warriors are back on the course on Sunday and Monday at the Edwin Cottrell Invitational hosted by West Chester.
