MILLERSVILLE – Kiersten McLennan had an assist in the first half and scored 10 minutes into the second half to help Millersville to a 2-1 win over visiting East Stroudsburg University in PSAC women's soccer late Saturday afternoon.
Freshman forward
Courtney Keller scored her first career goal to open the scoring in the 16th minute, heading in a corner kick taken by senior forward
Megan Keiser, who notched her second assist of the season and the 12th of her career.
McLennan assisted on a breakway goal by Kelsey Mattola in the 36th minute as the Marauders tied the score, and had the game-winner 9:48 into the second half on an assist from Gina Grier.
The Warriors (3-2-1, 1-2-1) had a 12-10 advantage in shots, including 8-5 in the second half, but Ashley Matayasich made four of her five saves after intermission for Millersville.
Sophomore
Brittain Wagner had four saves but took her first loss of the season after posting two shutout wins and a 2-2 tie vs. defending PSAC champion West Chester in her first three career starts.
ESU hosts IUP in a key early-season PSAC game on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
