ESU Volleyball Finishes Crossover Weekend with Four-Set Loss at Mercyhurst

ERIE – East Stroudsburg University won the first set 25-16, but Mercyhurst came back to earn a four-set victory over the Warriors in PSAC crossover women's volleyball play on Saturday in northwestern Pennsylvania.

The Warriors were looking for their second straight upset of the Lakers (7-6, 2-1) after posting a five-set victory last season and were led by sophomore middle blocker Ashley Lesniak, who had nine kills for the third time in the last five matches and added three solo blocks.

Sophomore Allye Preziosi and freshman Annabelle Charlton both had 13 assists and freshman Haley Mork had 19 digs to lead three players in double figures. Junior Katie O'Neill had 12 and Preziosi added 11 digs and five kills. Charlton had seven digs and redshirt sophomore middle blocker Megan Plumb had five kills and four aces. Charlton had 14 kills, 29 assists and 21 digs in three matches over the weekend.

ESU (2-8, 0-3), which lost a pair of three-set matches to strong programs in Gannon and Edinboro on Friday, will face defending PSAC East regular season champion Lock Haven on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Koehler Fieldhouse.
