CALIFORNIA – Carley Work had three goals and an assist as undefeated California, ranked No. 2 nationally, posted a 5-0 win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC women's soccer on Saturday morning in western Pennsylvania.

The Warriors (4-4-1, 1-4-1) outshot the Vulcans (5-0-1, 3-0-1), 4-3, and held a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks before a red card on ESU senior goalkeeper Melissa Myers put the Warriors down to 10 players in the 33rd minute.

Cal capitalized less than 90 seconds later when Work assisted on a goal by Breeanna Robinson, and the Vulcans added four second-half goals – three by Work – to pull away from the shorthanded Warriors. Cal held a 30-5 advantage in shots for the contest.

Sophomore Brittain Wagner made 13 saves in 57:42 in goal for the Warriors, who opened a five-game road trip that will keep them away from Eiler-Martin Stadium until October 15. Myers made one save in the first third of the game.

Paula Jackson, a returning All-American, had three saves in 77 minutes before being replaced by Ashley Magruda. California has given up just one goal this season, outscoring its opponents 21-1 on the way to the highest ranking in school history.

The Warriors are off until next weekend when they travel to Lock Haven for a 1:30 p.m. start on Friday and Slippery Rock for a 1 p.m. start on Saturday.
