READING – Freshman Malene Frost carded a seven-over 42 on the front nine on her way to a round of 96 to help East Stroudsburg University finish third of five schools at the Alvernia Fall Invitational on Thursday afternoon at the Reading Country Club.

Frost, who had ESU's low round of 96 at the 36-hole Clarion Invitational last weekend, tied for eighth in the field of 23 golfers. The par-71 course measured 5,801 yards. Frost's 42 on the front (par 35) was the third-best score in the field.

Freshman Kayla Grossi placed 10th with a round of 98 and juniors Alycia Jones (104) and Regan Zimmerman (106) were 11th and 12th.

Gettysburg won the tournament with a four-player scorer of 348 and Kara McNulty was the medalist with a round of 83. The Bullets claimed the top three finishers. Alvernia (372) was 24 shots back and ESU (404) was 56 strokes behind the leaders. Ursinus (482) and Stevenson (525) rounded out the field, which was comprised of four Division III schools and the Warriors.

ESU will finish its fall season at Kutztown next weekend.
