EAST STROUDSBURG – East Stroudsburg University posted a three-set win over Lincoln before dropping a tough three-setter to Chestnut Hill as the Warriors finished with a 1-2 record in their season-opening home invitational on Saturday at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Shannon Fisher, an assistant coach for the last three seasons, made her head coaching debut for the Warriors, who lost three of their six sets by 26-24 scores. ESU opened its season on Friday night with a 3-0 loss to Caldwell, dropping the third 26-24, and the set scores against Chestnut Hill were 26-24, 26-24 and 25-19.

Caldwell finished the ESU Warrior Invitational with a 3-0 record, Chestnut Hill was 2-1 and Lincoln was 0-3. Caldwell had a 3-1 win over Chestnut Hill in the second match on Saturday.

Junior outside hitter Kaitlin Behrens led the Warriors with 21 kills on the weekend, sophomore outside hitter Elizabeth Madden had 18 over two matches and redshirt sophomore middle blocker Megan Plumb added 12 with a team-high .393 hitting percentage.

At setter, sophomore Allye Preziosi (38 assists) and freshman Annabelle Charlton (32 assists) both started and shared time. Charlton and sophomore middle blocker Ashley Lesniak, who had 95 blocks last season, led the way with seven blocks each. Freshman Haley Mork recorded 37 digs, an average of 4.6 per set.

The Warriors will play four matches next weekend in a tournament at Shepherd, taking on WVIAC members Fairmont State, Shepherd, West Virginia State and Davis & Elkins.

Behrens had six kills, seven digs and two blocks for the Warriors. Charlton had 10 assists, three kills and four digs, Preziosi had seven assists and eight digs and Lesniak had three kills and five blocks. Mork recorded 18 digs and senior Dani Wise had seven.

Lincoln – W 3-0 (25-9, 25-14, 25-9)   Box Score

Behrens had team-highs with eight kills and four aces as the Warriors hit .184 and had 11 aces in the match. Madden added five kills and Plumb had four kills on five attacks. Preziosi had 11 assists, Charlton notched six and freshman Melissa Frixione had seven assists in her first match.

Chestnut Hill – L 3-0 (24-26, 24-26, 19-25)   Box Score

Madden had 13 kills on 30 attacks and hit .333 to lead the Warriors' attack. Preziosi had 20 assists and Charlton recorded 16 to go with five digs. Mork had 15 digs and freshman Erin Rothrock was also in double figures with 11. Behrens had seven kills and hit .263 and Plumb had six kills while hitting .333. ESU hit .175 as a team.
