Lucrezia Manzione scored her first career goal on a penalty stroke to break a tie midway through the second half as East Stroudsburg University topped Mercyhurst, 3-2, in non-conference field hockey on Friday afternoon at Whitenight Field.

ESU improves to 13-0 all-time against Mercyhurst, which got goals from Marissa Faso to tie the game at 1 in the first half and Kelsey Lovelace to tie the game at 2 just over two minutes into the second half.
Manzione was selected to take the Warriors' penalty stroke with 16:23 remaining in the second half after sophomore forward
Brielle Kessel was taken out of a play by Mercyhurst goalkeeper Ashley Wiskup. Manzione hit a low, hard shot to the right of Wiskup for what proved to be the game-winning goal.
Senior goalkeeper
Maureen Ordnung had five saves and ESU held a 20-11 advantage in shots and 12-5 advantage in penalty corners. Wiskup made 15 saves for the Lakers.
ESU hosts Slippery Rock on Saturday at 1 p.m. and Limestone (S.C.) on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Whitenight Field as part of its “Think Pink” weekend. The Warriors' parents will be recognized at Saturday's game and the 2001 NCAA Division II runner-up team will be recognized on Sunday.
