Andrea Veres scored a career-high 22 points and junior forward
Fayola Moise tied her career-high with 15 rebounds as East Stroudsburg University posted a 62-55 win over Kutztown in PSAC East women's basketball on Saturday afternoon at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Cyara Woodridge scored 12 points and freshman guard
Ryann Fiascki added a career-high 11 for ESU (6-8, 3-7), which shot 8-for-15 from the three-point line led by a 4-for-5 performance from Veres.
Ashley Wood scored 12 of her 17 points in the first half to lead Kutztown (4-12, 2-8), which led 27-25 at halftime but saw the Warriors seize control with an 8-0 run in the middle of the second half.
Veres scored 17 points in the second half, including three of her four three-pointers, and gave ESU a 41-39 lead with a triple at the 12-minute mark after the Warriors trailed 39-34 just over three minutes earlier.
After a three-pointer by Andrea Sisson tied the game at 42-42, redshirt freshman guard
Steph Cabald made just her second three-pointer of the season to give ESU the lead for good with 9:26 remaining.
Veres' final three extended the lead to 52-46 with five minutes remaining, immediately answering a bucket by Kutztown's Nicole Donahue. KU pulled back within two on baskets by Steph Zewe and Donahue, but Cabald threw in a runner in the lane after an offensive rebound by Woodridge to make it 54-50.
Kutztown was 0-for-3 with two turnovers on its next five possessions, and the Warriors extended the advantage when Woodridge split a pair at the line and Fiascki had a steal and layup to put them ahead 57-50 with 51 seconds left.
Veres made the lead stand up at the foul line, going 4-for-4 in the final minute, including two with 22 seconds left after a three-pointer by Keyla Pullen brought Kutztown within 59-55.
Veres broke out of a scoring slump with her first double-figure game since December 10, going 6-for-8 from the field and 6-for-6 at the foul line.
Woodridge was 4-for-9 overall, 3-for-4 at the line, and had six rebounds to go with her 12 points. Fiascki's 11 points came on 4-for-6 shooting, including a three-pointer, and a 2-for-3 mark at the foul line. She added three rebounds and three assists and Cabald had five points and three assists, giving ESU 16 points and six assists from the point guard spot.
Moise scored eight points and had 12 of her 15 rebounds on the defensive end, posting 15 boards for the second time in her last three games. She didn't play in a 70-58 loss to Mansfield on Wednesday but also had 15 rebounds in ESU's last win, a 60-59 victory at Lock Haven on January 6.
Freshman forward
Jessica Martin had just one point after setting her career-high with 22 against Mansfield, but contributed with six rebounds, three assists, two steals and three blocks. She has 33 blocks this season, tying ESU's freshman record set by Tonia Lloyd in 1986-87. Martin entered the game ranked third in the PSAC with 2.3 blocks per game.
Both teams had 19 turnovers, but ESU converted them into 20 points, compared to just four for the Golden Bears. Moise, Martin and Woodridge helped the Warriors to a 44-36 rebounding advantage, including 16 on the offensive end.
Both teams made eight three-pointers, but ESU took advantage of a 13-point advantage in made three throws. ESU was 18-for-32 at the line, while Kutztown was 5-for-7. Moise alone was 6-for-14 for the Warriors.
Sisson scored eight points and three players had six each for Kutztown – Zewe (nine rebounds), Donahue and Pullen.
ESU hits the road for two games next week, heading to Millersville on Wednesday and Shippensburg on Saturday. Millersville fell to 8-5 (5-4 PSAC) with a 61-59 home loss to West Chester and has a make-up game at Cheyney (0-13, 0-9) on Monday. The Warriors are currently fifth in the PSAC East at 3-7, one game behind Shippensburg.
GAME NOTES
* Veres wore number 2 instead of her usual 32 on Saturday and responded with 22 points.
* Her previous career-high was 21 against Mercyhurst as a freshman. Her season-high was 18 points, twice in the first three games. She also tied her career-high with four three-pointers.
* Veres improved her free throw percentage to 83.9 (26-for-31) after going 6-for-6.
* Woodridge was in double figures for the sixth time in the last seven games and leads the Warriors with 11.1 points per game while shooting 48.0 percent.
* Moise is averaging 7.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game after her eight-point, 15-rebound game.
* Martin averaged 11.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in two games this week, giving her 9.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game for the season.
