ASHLAND, Ohio – Redshirt senior Adam Hluschak went 3-0 with two pins and a major decision of the No. 3-ranked wrestler at 141 pounds in Division II to lead East Stroudsburg University at the Mid-Atlantic Duals on Sunday at Ashland, Ohio.

Hluschak – a national qualifier as a sophomore – majored Nick Wykoff of West Liberty, 12-1, in his first match of the day and won by fall in 15 seconds and five minutes, 22 seconds in his bouts against Gannon and Belmont Abbey to improve to 21-6 on the season.

Redshirt sophomore Braden Turner (157, 16-9) and redshirt senior Thad Frick (165, 18-6) both went 2-1 with decisions against Gannon and Belmont Abbey.

The Warriors fell to No. 14 West Liberty, 26-10, and Gannon, 26-18, before posting a 33-9 win over Belmont Abbey in their final dual of the day.

Freshmen Zach Jones (125) and Chris Davis (133) both won by decision against West Liberty and Hluschak's major of Wykoff gave the Warriors a 10-0 lead, but the Hilltoppers used their strength at the upper weights, combined with three regulars out of the ESU lineup, to win the final seven bouts of the morning session.

Hluschak, Turner and Frick posted victories against Gannon, which is also receiving votes in the NWCA Division II coaches poll.

The Warriors won five of the eight bouts on the mat against Belmont Abbey and received forfeits at 125 and 133. Hluschak and redshirt senior Andrew Ritchie (149) both won by fall, followed by decisions from Turner at 157, Frick at 165 and redshirt junior Joe Blaes at 285.

ESU is back on the mat next weekend at the East Coast Duals at Pitt-Johnstown.
