EAST STROUDSBURG - Haley Henderson scored the game's only goal in the 26th minute as No. 15-ranked California, the defending PSAC champion, held off East Stroudsburg University for a 1-0 win in PSAC women's soccer on Saturday afternoon at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
The Warriors (6-3-4, 5-2-3) suffered just their second loss in PSAC action, while California (11-2-1, 8-1-1) solidified its spot near the top of the conference standings as Henderson had her ninth goal of the season, assisted by Bethany Smyda, midway through the first half.
California outshot ESU 19-8 (13-2 in the second half) in a meeting of two of the three PSAC schools with just one or fewer conference losses entering the weekend.

Brittain Wagner had four saves for ESU in taking just her second loss of the year in goal, going to 6-2-4. Ashley Magruda had five saves for California.
No. 2-ranked West Chester (11-1-1, 8-1-1), which lost 3-2 at Lock Haven for its first loss this season, comes to ESU on Tuesday for a 6:30 p.m. start in the second game of a doubleheader.
