WEST CHESTER – No. 2-ranked West Chester scored two goals in the first 10 minutes and went on to post a 5-0 win over No. 10 East Stroudsburg University in PSAC East field hockey on Wednesday afternoon.
Michele Schrift scored two of her team's three first-half goals for the Golden Rams (14-2, 8-1), the defending national champions, who clinched at least a share of the PSAC East regular season title and will host the PSAC semifinals and final.
Schrift scored 4:04 into the game and added her second goal with six minutes left in the first half. Kayla Gluchowski scored 9:15 into the contest, and Kelsi Lykens and Nancy Stehman scored in the second half.
West Chester had advantages of 26-15 in shots and 10-4 in penalty corners, and Kristin Arnold had nine saves for the shutout. Senior
Sarah Dobroskey had 13 saves for ESU, which fell 3-0 in the teams' first meeting on Sept. 25.
The Warriors (6-11, 1-8) host No. 6 Millersville in their Senior Day game on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Whitenight Field.
