HERSHEY – East Stroudsburg University is seventh through the first day of the 2012 PSAC Women's Golf Championships, being contested Friday and Saturday at Hershey Links Golf Course.
Sophomore
Malene Frost led ESU with a first-round 97 and is tied for 30th overall. She is followed by senior
Alycia Jones and freshman
Bridget Simons, both tied for 33rd at 99, senior
Regan Zimmerman (37th, 102) and sophomore
Kayla Grossi (38th, 103) in a field of 38 golfers.
ESU is seventh in a field of seven schools through the first round. Millersville fielded three golfers and will not factor into the team standings.
Maria Lopez of California holds a two-shot lead over teammate Lorena Aranda with an opening-round 73. California also leads the team standings at 306 (+18), holding a 19-stroke lead over Gannon as final-round play begins on Saturday.
The par-72 course is playing at 5,948 yards this weekend.
