EDINBORO – East Stroudsburg University, ranked No. 5 in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region rankings released on Wednesday afternoon, fell 3-1 at Edinboro in PSAC women's soccer earlier in the day which secured either the fifth or sixth spot for the Warriors in next week's conference tournament.

Marissa Spitler, in the 83rd minute after Edinboro (11-3-2, 8-3-2) took a 2-0 lead just three minutes earlier.
The Fighting Scots, ranked No. 6 in the region, sealed it with the second goal of the game by Karisa Fernandez in the 89th minute. Fernandez also scored the game's first goal in the 49th minute after a scoreless first half, and Jansen Hartmann put Edinboro in front 2-0 in the 80th minute.
ESU had a 19-15 advantage in shots and scored on one of its two corner kicks. Collins scored her 10th career goal – ninth off a corner or free kick – and is one of four Warriors with four goals this season. Spitler notched her fifth assist of the season and 12th of her career.

Brittain Wagner had six saves for ESU and Meghan Kelly had seven saves for Edinboro.
The Warriors finish the regular season on Saturday against Bloomsburg at 7:30 p.m. at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
In the PSAC standings, ESU is sixth with 24 points after Wednesday's results from around the conference. Edinboro moved into fifth with 26 points, and Slippery Rock is seventh with 20 points after a 2-1 loss at Gannon – meaning the Rock can't catch the Warriors for sixth.
At the top, West Chester and California are tied with 31 points, with West Chester holding the tiebreaker with a 2-1 win in their head-to-head meeting if they remain tied after Saturday's games. Kutztown's PSAC season is complete with 29 points and Gannon has 28 going into its rivalry game with Mercyhurst.
ESU will be the No. 5 or No. 6 seed and travel to Kutztown, Gannon or Edinboro next Tuesday (Oct. 30) depending on Saturday's results. Gannon is at Mercyhurst and Edinboro is at Mansfield, while the Warriors host Bloomsburg.
In the Atlantic Region rankings, ESU moved to No. 5 from No. 7 after a 3-0 week, including a 2-1 win over West Chester, the region's top-ranked team. The Warriors have wins over three of the four teams ahead of them – West Chester, Kutztown and Gannon – but lost to No. 6 Edinboro and No. 7 IUP, and tied No. 8 Slippery Rock and No. 10 Lock Haven.
The top six schools in the final set of rankings will compete in the NCAA Division II Tournament. The selections will be made on Monday, Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
