LOCK HAVEN - Freshmen Alex Zubko and Lauren Monteith led East Stroudsburg University's cross country teams at Lock Haven's River Run on Saturday in north-central Pennsylvania.

The Warriors rested their top runners in the week between the PSAC Championships, where the men were runner-up for the first time since 1994 and the women were seventh, and the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional which will be held next Saturday at Lock Haven.

Zubko ran 27:03.5 to place 13th on the 8K course, followed by sophomore Shane Bissonnette (15th), sophomore Ryan Gormley (24th), sophomore Mike Miller (25th) and freshman Kory Rolek (29th). The Warriors were second of four schools.

For the women, Monteith was 15th in 24:45.1 over, senior Emily Haws was 17th (24:58.1), junior Katie Thomas was 19th (25:24.5), junior Brittany Callahan 20th (25:36.0) and sophomore Stephanie Soni 23rd (25:45.5). ESU was third of four schools.
