Kaitlin Behrens had 56 kills in four matches, including 19 against Slippery Rock and 18 against IUP, during East Stroudsburg University's PSAC crossover weekend at Clarion and Slippery Rock on Friday and Saturday.
Behrens, one of the PSAC's top hitters with 3.51 kills per set, averaged 4.31 kills in 13 sets over the weekend and added 29 digs.
The Warriors fell in three sets to PSAC West powers California, Clarion and IUP before getting the third set off Slippery Rock in a 3-1 loss.
Freshman
Maddie Hutchison, ranking near the top of the conference with 4.47 digs per set, had 61 digs for an average of 4.69 per set. Her weekend total includes 18 digs each against California and IUP and 16 against Slippery Rock.
Junior
Allye Preziosi (16 kills, 67 assists, 45 digs) and sophomore
Annabelle Charlton (24 kills, 56 assists, 46 digs) put up nearly identical numbers over the four matches. Other top players were redshirt junior middle blocker
Megan Plumb (18 kills, .167 pct.) and senior outside hitter
Katie O'Neill (21 kills, 48 digs) and sophomore middle blocker

The Warriors (7-10, 4-6) pushed both IUP and Slippery Rock on Saturday. They went to 26-24 in the second set and 27-25 in the third set after a first-set loss (25-18) against IUP, when Behrens had 18 kills, Plumb had 10 kills and hit .333 and Charlton had 21 assists and 25 digs.
Behrens pounded 19 kills and O'Neill had 12 in Slippery Rock's 25-17, 25-20, 21-25, 25-19 win. The Warriors had five players with double-figure digs in Preziosi (18), Hutchison (16), O'Neill (14), Behrens (12) and Charlton (12). Welch accounted for eight total blocks, one solo and seven assists.
ESU is back in action Tuesday with a non-conference match at Philadelphia University, and heads to Shippensburg and Millersville the following weekend.
