EAST STROUDSBURG – Megan Burns scored 20 points off the bench and Krystina Agard had 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead four players in double figures as Concordia (N.Y.) posted a 78-67 win over East Stroudsburg University on the second day of the 48th Annual Pocono Classic at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Senior forward Fayola Moise had a career-high 23 points along with eight rebounds, and sophomore forward Jessica Martin tied her career-high with 22 points and added 11 rebounds for ESU (1-2), which had a 70-55 win over Caldwell on Saturday night.

Martin was named the Pocono Classic MVP for the second straight season, with 36 points, 23 rebounds, six blocks and six steals over the two games. She had 14 points, 12 rebounds, five blocks and four steals in the win over Caldwell. Martin had 28 points, 17 rebounds and five blocks over two games last year.

Martin is the second two-time recipient of the MVP award, joining Stacy Perryman, who was recognized as a freshman in 1992-93 and junior in 1994-95. The women's tournament is in its 24th year. There has never been a two-time MVP of the men's tournament, which ran from 1964-65 to 2010-11.

The All-Tournament team was comprised of Martin, Moise, Agard, Ashle Freeman and Danielle Ferguson of Virginia Union and Jeanette Anderson of Caldwell. Virginia Union was the only undefeated team, beating Concordia 52-44 on Saturday and rallying for a 66-62 win over Caldwell on Sunday.

Agard and Burns were both 10-for-10 at the foul line as Concordia (1-7) set a tournament record for made free throws, going 28-for-32. The Clippers were 25-for-28 at the line in the second half.

Alyssa Dawson and Anjali Moncrieffe both added 12 points for Concordia. Moncrieffe, who did not start, also had five rebounds and six assists in 38 minutes.

ESU shot 11-for-17 from the three-point line against Caldwell, but did not have the same success on Sunday, going 4-for-21 from behind the arc. The Warriors shot 33.8 percent (23-for-68) overall and 19-for-47 (40.4 percent) from two-point range.

Concordia took the lead for good eight minutes into the game, with a three-pointer by Dawson breaking a 17-17 tie. The Clippers extended the lead to 10 late in the first half and led 38-32 at halftime.

ESU used a 7-0 run to pull within three (42-39) on a jumper by sophomore guard Ryann Fiascki with 15:24 left in the second half, but Concordia scored seven of the next eight points to hold off the Warriors. The Clippers made their final 13 free throws in the last three minutes as ESU never got closer than seven down the stretch.

Martin had her second straight double-double and sixth of her career. She tied her career-high of 22 points against Mansfield last season.

Moise surpassed her career-high of 17 points in a win at Cheyney last year and had 12 points, five rebounds and five assists in the win over Caldwell on Saturday. She finished the tournament with 35 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists.

Sophomore forward Kelsey Murray added seven points, four rebounds and two steals off the bench. Fiascki had two points, four rebounds and five assists, senior guard Barb Borst scored six points and junior guard Andrea Veres had five. Veres scored 19 points and was 5-for-6 from three-point range against Caldwell.

Moise and Martin are the first ESU teammates to score 20 points in a game since Barb Borst (23) and Andrea Veres (20) did it in a 78-63 win over Mansfield in February 2011.

ESU opens its PSAC schedule this weekend, playing at Mercyhurst on Saturday and Gannon on Sunday. The Warriors, who began the season with a 53-47 loss at No. 12-ranked Holy Family on November 14, have one non-conference game remaining when they travel to Philadelphia University on December 15.
