EAST STROUDSBURG – Sarah Strybuc scored 22 points and Monae Baker had 17 points, 13 rebounds and scored her 1,000th career point as Shippensburg posted a 68-51 win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC East women's basketball on Saturday afternoon at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Senior guard Cyara Woodridge scored a season-high 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds and freshman forward Jesica Martin had eight points, nine rebounds and four blocks to lead ESU (9-13, 6-12 PSAC), which falls three games behind Shippensburg (12-10, 9-9) for the No. 4 seed in the PSAC East with four conference games remaining.

Martin, ranked first in the PSAC and 14th in Division II with 2.7 blocked shots per game, has 61 blocks this season and at least four in four straight games. She also entered the game ranked 11th in the PSAC in rebounding and second among freshmen with 7.2 per game.

Strybuc scored 15 points in the first half as Shippensburg led 29-16 at halftime. The Lady Raiders used an 18-3 run over eight minutes to build a 25-8 lead at the six-minute mark of the period, capped by the third three-pointer of the first half by Strybuc.

The Warriors scored the first points of the second half on a jumper by junior forward Fayola Moise, but were never able to get the deficit under double-figures after intermission.

Woodridge had 10 points in the first half and 11 in the second, finishing 9-for-18 from the field, including two three-pointers. She passed her season-high of 19 against Clarion on November 20 and was one point away from her career-high set last season at Millersville.

Baker had 15 of her 17 points in the second half and scored nine points in the first four minutes of the period, hitting the 1,000-point mark with 16:24 remaining. She finished the game with 1,006 points in her career, which spans two years at Shippensburg and two seasons at Pitt-Johnstown.

Shippensburg's biggest advantage came at the foul line, where the Lady Raiders shot 17-for-28, led by 7-for-8 from Shawna Wert, who scored 14 points. ESU was 5-for-13 at the line.

The Warriors host Millersville, which is tied for second in the PSAC East at 15-7 (12-6), on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Koehler Fieldhouse. The Marauders beat Kutztown, 65-55, on Saturday for the fifth win in their last six games.
