MANSFIELD – Jena Matter scored 19 points, Mallory Moore had 18 points and Mansfield used a 21-1 run midway through the first half as the impetus for an 81-71 win over visiting East Stroudsburg University in PSAC East women's basketball on Wednesday night at Decker Gymnasium.

Junior forward Fayola Moise had her first career double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds to lead ESU (9-12, 6-11 PSAC), which remains two games behind fourth-place Shippensburg in the battle for the final playoff spot in the PSAC East with five games remaining. Redshirt senior forward Brittany McClain added eight points off the bench.

The Warriors saw their three-game winning streak snapped, which included a 60-58 win over West Chester, a 77-65 win at Cheyney and a 56-52 (2OT) win at Kutztown on Saturday.

Mansfield (8-13, 5-12), which climbed within one game of ESU with its second win over the Warriors this season, used its first-half run to turn a 14-10 deficit into a 31-16 lead with eight minutes left before intermission and led 46-30 at halftime. The Mounties eventually opened a 70-47 lead with eight minutes left in the second half before ESU closed the game on a 24-11 run, including a 12-3 stretch in the final three minutes.

Moore, the PSAC's leading scorer with 18.8 points per game, had 11 in the second half and finished 6-for-18 from the field and 6-for-7 at the foul line for her 18 points. Matter was 6-for-12 from the field and 7-for-8 at the line for her game-high 19 points, Alyssa DeRichie scored 11 of her 13 points in the first half and Julia Steven finished with 10 points to round out four players in double figures for Mansfield.

The Mounties held a 49-32 rebounding advantage and had 23 offensive rebounds. Moore and Matter pulled down eight rebounds each, with 11 of the 16 coming on the offensive end.

Moise has 10+ points in seven games and 10+ rebounds in six games this season, but put them together for the first time to record her first double-double at ESU. She ranked sixth in the PSAC with 7.8 rebounds per game entering the night and is averaging 9.9 rebounds in 10 games since the start of January, with five games in double-figures.

Martin, coming off her fifth PSAC East Freshman of the Week selection of the season, had her fifth straight game with at least three blocked shots. She finished the night with 57 blocked shots this season, already third-most in school history and almost double the previous record for an ESU freshman. She leads the PSAC and is 14th in Division II with 2.7 blocks per game and also scored in double figures for the third time in four games.

Woodridge, ESU's leading scorer with 10.6 points per game, was in double figures for the third straight game and Fiascki scored 10+ for the fifth time in six games. Fiascki led the PSAC in free throw percentage at 90.0 (63-for-70) and was 5-for-7 at the line.
