Sarah Ginn both had their first career hat tricks as East Stroudsburg University picked up its first women's lacrosse win of the season with a 15-10 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas on Sunday afternoon.
Miller's seven points easily surpassed her previous career-high of four in her only other career hat trick, when she had three goals and an assist in a 17-10 win over Shippensburg last season. She entered the season as ESU's top returning scorer with 16 goals and nine assists on last year's PSAC semifinal team.
Ginn had four goals and an assist, Perrymond had three goals and two assists and four other players also found the net as the Warriors rebounded from a 17-4 loss to No. 2-ranked and defending national semifinalist Le Moyne in their season opener last Monday.
Senior midfielder
Grace Gunkel, who scored her first career goal against Le Moyne, had two goals and an assist. Freshman midfielder
Emily Powell had a goal and an assist for her first career points and senior midfielder
Kelsey Pfautz and sophomore attack
Sarah Studdiford also added goals for ESU.
Senior
Amanda Simms played the first 50 minutes in goal and made eight saves for ESU. Junior
Katie Zollo had one save over the final 10 minutes.
ESU improved to 3-0 in the all-time series with St. Thomas Aquinas, winning the first two meetings in 2005 and 2006.
The Warriors will return north and host Georgian Court in a non-conference game on Thursday at 4 p.m. at Whitenight Field.
