BLOOMSBURG – East Stroudsburg University split a pair of non-conference tennis matches on Saturday at Bloomsburg, edging WV Wesleyan 5-4 before taking a 5-0 loss to regional contender Charleston.

The Warriors continue non-conference action on Sunday and Monday, hosting Marywood and traveling to King's, before heading back to Bloomsburg next weekend for the PSAC Individual Championships.

Senior Amanda Kaufman had a 6-3, 6-0 win over Samantha Coral at No. 1 singles and sophomore Annie Vega and freshman Taylor Presby had an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles against WV Wesleyan. The Warriors gained their other three points with forfeits at No. 5 and No. 6 singles along with No. 3 doubles.

Charleston picked up three wins in doubles and victories at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, when the match was terminated due to the Golden Eagles picking up the requisite number of points to secure the victory with other matches slated to hit the courts.

Kaufman improved to 12-6 on the season and 10-2 this spring with her win against WV Wesleyan, which her match against Charleston's Marcela Torres went unfinished. Kaufman now has 47 career victories, including 39 at No. 1 singles.

Vega and Presby improved to 6-2 on the season as a doubles tandem and earned their first win at No. 2.
