EAST STROUDSBURG – Amy Halls had six goals and two assists to lead Slippery Rock to a 20-9 win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC lacrosse on Friday afternoon at Whitenight Field.

Senior attack Grace Gunkel and sophomore attack Nicole Miller both scored three goals for ESU (4-10, 2-7), which stayed even with the Rock through the first 11 minutes before Slippery Rock responded with five straight goals, including three by Halls.

Halls scored five of her six goals in the first half, Morgan Pettit scored three goals and Casey Quinn and Emma VanDenburg added two each for Slippery Rock (9-4, 5-4), which won its second straight in the series.

Senior midfielder Maure Perrymond had a goal and an assist and added five caused turnovers to her Division II-leading total. She now has 41 caused turnovers, along with 41 ground balls and 38 draw controls, through 14 games this season.

Junior attack Sarah Ginn added two goals for ESU. Ginn, Gunkel, senior midfielder Kelsey Pfautz, sophomore attack Sarah Studdiford and freshman midfielder Alexa Webb also had assists.

Gunkel had her fifth hat trick of the season and third straight, with 13 goals in the last three games. Miller scored a goal in her 10th straight game and had her fourth hat trick.

Ginn (31 goals, 6 assists), Gunkel (30 g, 6 a) and Miller (27 g, 8 a) are ESU's top scorers with two games left in the season. Perrymond had nine goals and a team-high 13 assists.

The Warriors will recognize their five seniors – Gunkel, midfielder Molly McLenigan, Perrymond, Pfautz and goalkeeper Amanda Simms – before Saturday's game against Edinboro at 1 p.m.
