SHIPPENSBURG – Senior Amanda Kaufman, sophomore Allison Schafer and freshman Taylor Presby all posted wins in both singles and doubles to lead East Stroudsburg University to a 6-3 win at Shippensburg in PSAC East women's tennis on Friday.

ESU swept all three doubles matches and won at No. 1, No. 5 and No. 6 singles for its first conference win of the season. The Warriors, 2-14 overall and 1-3 in PSAC East play, could potentially force a tie for the third spot in the PSAC East with wins over Cheyney on Saturday and Millersville next Tuesday.

Kaufman led the Warriors at the top of the singles lineup, improving to 11-5 on the season, 9-1 this spring and 4-0 against the PSAC with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Julia Saintz. She has won six straight matches overall.

Schafer had a 6-0, 6-2 win over Lisa Snader at No. 5 singles and Presby posted a 6-2, 7-5 win over Hannah Wolfe at No. 6. Presby improved to 2-2 in PSAC East play.

Kaufman and sophomore Allison Bean (8-3), Schafer and freshman Elizabeth Longenhagen (8-4) and Presby and sophomore Annie Vega (8-1) helped the Warriors to a clean sweep in doubles. Kaufman and Bean leveled their record at No. 1 to 5-5 on the season and Presby and Vega are 4-1 overall and 3-1 against divisional opponents.

Shippensburg (1-12, 1-4) won third-set tiebreakers at No. 2 and No. 3 singles and had a 7-6, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles for its three points.

The Warriors take on Cheyney (0-5, 0-3) on Saturday at 9 a.m. at Shippensburg.
