MILLERSVILLE – Sophomore Annabelle Charlton had a triple-double with 11 kills, 11 digs and 18 assists as East Stroudsburg University won in four sets against Concord on Saturday at the Marauder Clash at Millersville.

The Warriors went 1-3 on the opening weekend of the season, falling to Quincy (Ill.) and Wilmington on Friday before beating Concord on Saturday morning and falling to Millersville. The win over Concord was ESU's first under head coach Allison Keeley.

Charlton had 35 kills, 33 digs and 46 assists for the weekend and junior Allye Preziosi had 21 kills, 38 digs, 48 assists and nine blocks to lead the Warriors.

Redshirt junior middle blocker Megan Plumb had 19 kills and five blocks and sophomore Abby Welch had 17 kills and a team-high 15 blocks. Freshman outside hitter Jessica Mowrey had 12 kills and a team-high seven aces.

Freshman libero Maddie Hutchison paced the Warriors defensively with 45 digs and senior outside hitter Katie O'Neill had nine kills and 32 digs.

In the win over Concord (25-18, 25-14, 21-25, 25-23), ESU hit .244 as a team with Charlton hitting .333 on 30 attacks and Welch hitting .412 with 10 kills on 17 attacks. Plumb added eight kills, Mowrey had six kills and five aces and Preziosi had five kills, nine digs and 20 assists.

Hutchison had a weekend-high 18 digs and O'Neill had four kills and 15 digs.

The Warriors opened the season against Quincy, falling 25-19, 25-19, 26-24 in three sets. Charlton had nine kills, nine digs and 10 assists; Preziosi added eight kills, 11 digs and 11 assists and Welch had four blocks.

Charlton also led ESU with seven kills and had eight digs and eight assists against Wilmington in a three-set loss (25-17, 26-24, 25-13). Preziosi had five kills, 10 digs, eight assists and four blocks, Hutchison had eight digs and Welch had four blocks.

In Saturday's final match, Millersville came away with a 25-17, 25-21, 25-20 win. Charlton had eight kills, five digs and 10 assists, Preziosi had three kills, eight digs and nine assists and Hutchison had 12 digs. Welch had three kills and five blocks.

Senior Kaitlin Behrens, the Warriors' top hitter last season, played in the opening set against Quincy before leaving due to injury.

ESU opens its 19-match PSAC schedule next Saturday with the first of two matches this season against Cheyney. The Warriors and Wolves will get underway at 1 p.m. at Koehler Fieldhouse.
