Amina Dickson took an 8-2 loss to Bloomsburg's Natalie Greenholt and Nicole Slagle in the doubles bracket as East Stroudsburg University opened its 2012-13 women's tennis season at the PSAC Individual Championships on Saturday at Bloomsburg.
Bean and Dickson both fell to seeded players in the singles bracket. Bean dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision to No. 4-seeded Michelle Perez (Bloomsburg), and Dickson fell 6-0, 6-0 to Katie Eaton (IUP). The tournament seeded the top four players in numerical order, and assigned a 5-8 seed to the next four players.
Perez and Eaton both advanced to the quarterfinals, where Eaton took a 6-1, 6-3 win to move into the semifinals. In doubles, Bloomsburg's Greenhold and Slagle fell to No. 2 seed Tanya Timko and Emilia Osborne (IUP) in the quarters.
ESU begins its fall dual schedule on Thursday at Caldwell.
