Bridget Simons shot a 94 to lead East Stroudsburg University at the Alvernia Fall Invitational, kicking off the 2012-13 women's golf season on Monday at Reading Country Club.
The Warriors placed third of nine squads in the 18-hole event on the par-70, 5,801-yard course.
Simons was 15th in a field of 50. Senior

Kayla Grossi both shot rounds of 96 to tie for 16th, senior
Alycia Jones tied for 21st with a 98 and sophomore
Malene Frost was 32nd with a 105. There were 50 golfers in the field with 11 schools represented.
Kutztown's “Gold” team won the event with a 335, followed by Gettysburg (360) and ESU (384). Kutztown “Maroon” was fourth (397) and Franklin & Marshall (401) rounded out the top five.
Madison Hausel of Kutztown was the medalist with an 81, one shot ahead of teammate Jackie Clifton and Jamie Wharton of Millersville.
The Warriors are slated to play four more events this fall, culminating with the PSAC Championships on Oct. 19-20. Their next action comes at Clarion on Saturday and Sunday.
