Kaitlin Behrens had five of her career-high 23 kills in the decisive fifth set as East Stroudsburg University defeated Mercyhurst, 3-2, on the first night of this weekend's PSAC volleyball crossover at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Freshman
Maddie Hutchison, last week's PSAC East Athlete of the Week, had a team-high 24 digs as ESU limited Mercyhurst (12-2, 0-1) to a .102 attack percentage. Amanda Balasko had 12 kills and 13 digs, Becky Leusch had 11 kills and Rachel Crittle had six kills and nine blocks to lead Mercyhurst.
Behrens had 21 kills in a 3-2 win over Concord last weekend and hit .315 for the match, with 23 kills and six errors on 54 attacks. The Warriors hit .147 overall and .250 (9 kills, 3 errors, 24 attacks) in the fifth set.
Set scores were 25-21, 20-25, 27-25, 18-25 and 15-10 as the Warriors jumped out to an 8-3 advantage in the deciding set.
The Warriors host Edinboro at 10 a.m. and Gannon at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
