INDIANA, Pa. - Freshman forward
Ally Roth had two goals and an assist, all in the second half, but No. 4-ranked IUP emerged with a 4-3 win in double-overtime over visiting No. 10 East Stroudsburg University on Saturday afternoon.
Nicole Bruce scored all three of IUP's goals in regulation and Anouk Sickman scored the game-winner 2:47 into the second overtime for the Crimson Hawks (10-2).
Bruce scored with 2:17 left in the first half, then the two teams combined for five goals in a span of 14 minutes in the second half to force overtime.
Roth scored twice put ESU in front 2-1 early in the second half, then Bruce answered with two goals in a span of three minutes to give IUP a 3-2 lead with just under 14 minutes left. Senior midfielder

Sophomore forward
Jessica Lawville scored her 10th goal of the season less than a minute and a half later to make it 3-3 with 12:29 left in the half, and it remained 3-3 through the remainder of regulation and the first 15-minute overtime period before Sickman won it for IUP.
Roth became the first ESU freshman since at least 1984 to score 10 goals in a season and has added five assists, tied for the team high. Lawville also had 10 goals and senior forward
Lauren Ventrella has eight.
ESU (4-7) had slight edges in shots (17-15) and penalty corners (12-10). The Warriors had five shots to force four saves by IUP goalkeeper Sarah Lemieux in the first OT period. Lemieux (9 saves) and starter Brittany Varacello (2 saves) shared duties for IUP, while ESU senior
Sarah Dobroskey played the whole way and made seven saves.
The Warriors are on the road for two PSAC East games next week, on Wednesday at Millersville to finish the first half of divisional play and Saturday at LIU Post to open the second half.
