BRONX, N.Y. - East Stroudsburg University runners took the top four spots in the men's non-Division I race to win the team title at the Fordham Invitational going way on Saturday at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.
Senior
Frank Fezza (26:48.53) led the Warriors' men with senior
Amr Aldeen second, sophomore
Chris Schneider third and senior
Mike Saparito fourth. Sophomore
Chris Ott was 15th as ESU's 25 total points easily outdistanced Ramapo's 91.
For the women, seniors
Corinne Fitzgerald and
Rose Mascoli, both NCAA Division II national qualifiers during their careers at ESU, finished second and third. Junior
Kim Wernerspach was eighth with freshmen
Melanie Riley (33rd) and
Chelsea Conover (42nd) rounding out the top five.
The Warriors were second behind Rowan, which had 47 points. ESU's quintet finished with 84 points, followed by Philadelphia University with 212.
ESU's teams are at Kutztown next weekend for the Kutztown Division II Challenge.
