EDINBORO - Two-time defending PSAC champion Edinboro put five players in double figures and used a 30-6 run spanning halftime to pull away for a 95-60 win over East Stroudsburg University in PSAC women's basketball on Saturday night at McComb Fieldhouse.
ESU jumped out to a 9-2 lead and trailed just 30-29 with two minutes left in the first half, but the Fighting Scots (10-3, 7-2) responded to post their 10th win of the season. Edinboro scored the last 13 points of the first half to lead 42-29 and opened its margin early in the second half.

Halie Cintron both added 10 points for ESU (4-9, 3-6). Cintron also had seven rebounds after posting five points and six rebounds in a 58-46 loss at Slippery Rock on Friday. Cintron entered the weekend with 0 points and three rebounds in ESU's first 11 games.
Edinboro, coming off a 46-40 loss to Kutztown on Friday, showed its depth as guard Kiara Brown, the PSAC's leading scorer with 16.2 points per game, didn't score in five minutes of action. Brown had two personal fouls and a technical in the first six minutes of the first half, and picked up her fourth foul one minute into the second half.
ESU held the Fighting Scots to 1-for-7 from the field with three turnovers during their 9-2 run to open the game. Cintron and sophomore forward
Jessica Martin (nine points, five rebounds) both scored, Veres hit a three-pointer and senior forward
Fayola Moise (three points, six rebounds) hit a layup in the first 3:30.
The Warriors led 15-8 eight minutes into the game, but Edinboro came back with a 13-2 surge to take the lead for good. A three-pointer and jumper by Cintron got ESU within 30-29 with 2:30 to go before Edinboro's push to finish the first half.
Hope Mancini, who had scored 10 points all season, had a team-high 18 points and hit four three-pointers to lead Edinboro. Samantha Blazetic scored 15 points, Aignee Freeland had 13 points and 11 rebounds, Darche Jackson dropped 12 and Kerry Connolly added 11 points and seven assists. Laurel Lindsay contributed nine points, eight rebounds and six assists.
Edinboro was 11-for-24 from the three-point line and had advantages of 21-9 in turnovers and 49-36 on the glass, including 23 offensive rebounds.
The Warriors will look to end a four-game streak on Wednesday night at Mansfield as they return to PSAC East play. ESU was 2-6 against the PSAC West, with wins over Lock Haven (59-56) and Clarion (76-69 OT), and won its PSAC East opener over Cheyney (65-37) on December 8.
