NWCA releases updated rankings  l  Highlights

EAST STROUDSBURG - Nationally-ranked wrestlers Braden Turner and Tyson Searer both posted victories, but East Stroudsburg University fell to Shippensburg, 24-17, in a PSAC dual on Wednesday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Turner, ranked 6th nationally and 2nd in Super Region 1 at 157 pounds, won a 5-0 decision over Neal Grudi (4th SR1) to get the Warriors on the board in the fifth bout of the night. Turner is 7-4 overall and remains perfect at 4-0 against Division II competition.

Redshirt junior Brendan McKeown (174) had a 16-5 major decision over John Lundquist to improve to 6-1 (2-1 DII). Redshirt sophomore Luke DeLuise (184) won by injury default over Luke Etter to get ESU within 21-13.

Searer, ranked 5th in today's NWCA Division II poll and 1st in Super Region 1 at 197, pitched an 8-0 major decision over Francis Slover to improve to 7-5 on the season (4-1 DII).

Dan Estricher sealed the dual win for Shippensburg with a 5-3 decision over redshirt senior Joe Blaes at 285 pounds. Ship led 21-17 going into the final bout, with Blaes needing a bonus-point win to tie or win the match.

Shippensburg won five of the first six bouts, four on the mat and one win by forfeit.

The Warriors are back on the mat with three matches on Sunday at the Ashland Quad (Ohio), taking on Seton Hill, Belmont Abbey and Ashland.
