SLIPPERY ROCK – Freshman midfielder
Shea Neal scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season, but No. 15-ranked Slippery Rock tied the game late in the first half and won it with 2:40 remaining in the second overtime for a 2-1 win over visiting East Stroudsburg University in PSAC women's soccer on Friday afternoon.
ESU (8-5-2, 7-5-2), in a fight for its fifth trip to the PSAC Tournament in the last seven years, opened a three-game road trip to finish the regular season and heads to conference leader and No. 6-ranked California (12-2-1, 12-1) on Saturday.
The Warriors currently hold the eighth and final playoff spot with 23 points but have played two more games than Millersville (19 points), which hosts Seton Hill tonight, and one more than IUP (19), which is at Mercyhurst on Saturday.
Neal gave ESU a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute before Slippery Rock (11-2-1, 10-2-1), the top-ranked team in the first NCAA regional rankings, rallied to tie it on a goal by Andrea Felix with 39 seconds left in the first half.
After a scoreless second period and first overtime session, Dara Demich scored with 2:40 left to give the Rock the win, which strengthens its hold on second place in the conference.

Brittain Wagner had five saves for ESU, which was outshot 18-12. Slippery Rock had a 16-10 advantage in regulation and had the only shot of the first overtime. ESU took the first two shots of the second OT before Demich broke through.
Dana O'Neill made four saves in goal for SRU.
Saturday's game at California begins at 3:30 p.m. The Warriors finish the regular season next Thursday night at Edinboro (10-4-1, 8-4-1).
