Senior midfielder Kaitlin Blum's 2nd career goal gave ESU a 1-0 lead in Saturday's loss to defending national champ West Chester.

EAST STROUDSBURG – Megan Callanan scored 40 seconds into the second half to put No. 3-ranked West Chester ahead for good, as the Golden Rams pulled out a 4-2 win over No. 6 East Stroudsburg University in PSAC field hockey on Saturday afternoon at Whitenight Field.

Senior midfielder Kaitlin Blum gave ESU (5-5, 2-1) an early lead with the game's first goal 18:18 into the first half, assisted by junior forward Gabrielle Seibert, who scored the Warriors' second goal with three seconds remaining.

Nancy Stehman tied the game for West Chester (7-2, 3-0) with 4:32 to go before halftime before Callanan gave WCU its first lead of the game early in the second half. Kelsi Lykens scored on a penalty stroke just under five minutes into the second half and Marnie Kusakavitch made it 4-1 on an assist from Lykens with 3:38 remaining.

Sophomore goalkeeper Alexis Charles had nine saves for ESU. Audree Bonavita made four saves for West Chester, which had advantages of 21-14 in shots and 21-9 in penalty corners. WCU, the two-time defending NCAA Division II champion, won 8-1 on September 21, ESU's last loss before its three-game winning streak.

The Warriors travel to Bloomsburg for a 4 p.m. start on Wednesday. ESU had a 4-2 win over the Huskies in a non-conference game on September 11.
