MILLERSVILLE - Millersville overcame a nine-point deficit in the final seven minutes, pushing past visiting East Stroudsburg University for a 75-64 win in PSAC East women's basketball on Saturday afternoon at Pucillo Gymnasium.

ESU (4-3, 2-2 PSAC East), looking for its first win at Millersville since 2007, had its biggest lead of the game at 49-36 with 11:54 left, and had a 55-46 advantage with 6:56 to play, before the Marauders (4-3, 2-1) came back.

Gemmell, who had seven points, five rebounds, five assists and nine steals in ESU's 75-67 win over Lock Haven on Wednesday, scored in double figures for the first time in her career.

Senada Mehmedovic scored 20 points, including 14 in the second half, to lead Millersville.

ESU led for the first 35 minutes, holding a 35-30 halftime lead, but the Marauders ended the game on a 29-9 run.

The Warriors shot 16-for-29 in the first half and forced 14 turnovers. They won the turnover margin, 21-15, and finished shooting 41.4 percent (24-for-58).

Millersville cut an 11-point ESU lead to 29-28 with 3:56 left in the first half, but the Warriors pulled away with a 20-8 surge over the next 12 minutes to hold their biggest lead of the afternoon.

A 6-0 run brought the Marauders within 49-42 before Martin scored for ESU, and after another Millersville push, Howard converted a three-point play for a 55-46 advantage with 6:56 to go.

The Warriors' lead was erased two minutes later, with a 10-1 surge including three's by Mehmedovic and Carly Gallagher tying the game at 56-56 with 5:24 remaining.

Millersville took the lead for good on a layup by Sabina Mehmedovic on its next possession, and another three by Senada Mehmedovic helped the Marauders pull away.

ESU, coming off a three-game winning streak, will take its 2-2 PSAC East record into the second semester. The Warriors are at Virginia Union next Saturday, then have six straight games against the PSAC West before returning to divisional play on January 11 against Shippensburg.
