Ray Nicosia (149), redshirt senior
Braden Turner (165), freshman

Tyson Searer (197) at the 2013 PSAC Wrestling Championships, held Saturday at Edinboro.
Nicosia placed fifth and Turner, Fogle and Searer were all sixth in their weight classes.
ESU placed eighth of 12 schools overall, and fourth of the eight Division II schools in the PSAC. Edinboro had six individual champions and won its third straight PSAC title, and eighth in nine years.

Joseph Hoy (141) was named the PSAC "Champion Scholar" as the student-athlete with the highest GPA at the championship site. He gives ESU its second Champion Scholar in wrestling in as many years, following
Tony Vorndran from a year ago.
Nicosia highlighted the Warriors' opening round action, advancing to the semifinals with a first-period pin (2:23) of No. 3 seed Justin Arthur of Clarion, ranked No. 18 in Division I by Intermat. Nicosia was one of five unseeded wrestlers among the 40 semifinalists, and one of 12 DII wrestlers to reach the semis.
Nicosia lost a 9-2 decision to No. 2 seed Bryce Busler (Bloomsburg) in the semifinals, and dropped his first consolation bout by first-period fall to Joe Esposito (Kutztown). He placed fifth by forfeit over Arnold.
The Warriors had six wrestlers in the quarterfinals, including Nicosia, Turner and Searer. Also making quarterfinal appearances were freshman
Joey Kratochvil at 133 (opening round bye), redshirt sophomore
Eric Howey at 157 (16-12 decision vs. Nicolas Lospinoso of Kutztown) and redshirt junior
Luke DeLuise at 184 (second-period pin vs. Andrew Wood of Gannon).
Turner, the No. 2 seed at 165, opened with a technical fall before a 5-1 setback to Kasey Davis (Edinboro), who was unseeded but was one of six Fighting Scots to win individual titles.
Turner came back with a technical fall over James Shields (Millersville) and a 16-2 major decision against No. 3 Clint Schaefer (Mercyhurst), then lost a 5-2 decision to No. 4 Gary Lantz (Pitt-Johnstown) in the consolation semifinal.
At 174, Fogle rallied from a first-round loss by decision to score decisions over Nikos Garofola (Pitt-Johnstown) and Nick Mancini (Millersville), before being pinned in the first period by No. 4 Adam Mackie (Lock Haven) in the consolation semis.
Searer, seeded No. 4 at 197, won a 4-0 decision against Zak Newton (Pitt-Johnstown) to reach the quarters, where he fell 9-5 to No. 5 Brandon Clark (Kutztown). He won by decision and fall before bowing to No. 2 Phil Sprenkle (Lock Haven) by medical forfeit.
Howey also posted a consolation win for the Warriors, pinning Colton Rebert (Shippensburg) in the second period of his opening consolation bout.

Connor Maliff (125), Hoy (141) and junior
Kenny Taffur (285) also competed for the Warriors.
Edinboro (172.5 points) was followed by Bloomsburg (135.0), Lock Haven (102.0) and Clarion (92.0) as the four Division I schools finished first through fourth.
Mercyhurst (90.0) was the top DII finisher, followed by Pitt-Johnstown (62.0), Kutztown (48.5), ESU (44.5), Shippensburg (26.0), Gannon (17.5), Seton Hill (13.0) and Millersville (12.0).
